National Conference Update: Keynote Speakers Announced

by Staff Contributor | The US Swim School Association

If you’re looking for a remarkable industry experience, you will find it at the fall National Conference!

The 2016 National Conference will be held October 12 – 14 in Chicago, Illinois. When you arrive, you’ll soon discover why Frank Sinatra famously coined it, “My Kind Of Town”. The city is among the largest in the U.S. and has been the stomping ground of gangsters, celebrities, politicians, comedians, musicians and famed athletes alike. This city has earned many nicknames, from Chi-Town to the best-known being the Windy City. With so much celebrity status going on, it’s apropos to announce the two incredibly notable Association Keynote Speakers featured this year.

Michael BrandweinFirst let’s introduce Michael Brandwein. Michael is an educator, author, master trainer and internationally recognized expert of youth development in education, camps and recreation. Known for his original techniques taught with an energetic, “use-it-immediately” approach, Michael has made presentations in all fifty U.S. states and on six of the seven continents. He is also the number one best-selling author in the camp field, with five consecutive bestsellers on training and leading staff who work with young people, including his latest, Skill of the Day: What Great Youth Leaders Do & Say. He wrote and presented three Emmy award-winning television programs on communicating with children. He has served on the national board of directors of the American Camp Association and has received two national honors from ACA for his training of directors and staff throughout the world. His Juris Doctor degree is from the University of Chicago. Michael lives in the Chicago area with his wife Donna and their two sons.

Dave CrenshawNext meet author, speaker and business coach, Dave Crenshaw. Dave is a master at helping business owners triumph over chaos. The irony of Dave’s mission is that he considers himself very chaotic and inherently unfocused. In fact, he was once diagnosed by a clinical psychologist as “off the charts ADHD.” Dave took that diagnosis as a personal challenge, and developed simple systems that fast-paced small business leaders worldwide now utilize to improve focus, structure, and stability. Dave Crenshaw’s humorous and entertaining approach always hits the mark with audiences and his speeches are described as dynamic and life-changing. He also appears frequently in the news worldwide, including Time magazine, FastCompany, USA

Today and the BBC News. However, Dave is most proud of being quoted by Chuck Norris in The Official Chuck Norris Fact Book. Dave’s first book, The Myth of Multitasking: How “Doing It All”

Gets Nothing Done, is a time management bestseller available in many languages worldwide. His most recent book, The Focused Business: How Entrepreneurs Can Triumph Over Chaos, is also a small business best seller. Dave resides in the shadow of Utah’s Rocky Mountains with his wife and children.
